[ Write and draw Japanese Iroha poem ]

Iroha (いろは) is an ancient Japanese poem written in the Heian era (8-11c) when aristocratic literature was flourished.  The poem consists of old Japanese alphabets  (ABC) in 8 sentences.  Practice basic calligraphy strokes and write/draw the poem in your style.  Over 3 sessions, complete 8 calligraphy art pieces of work based on the poem mounted on a handmade scroll paper.

*No prerequisites, Held in English, from 10 years old

1st class :  Introduction and history of Iroha poem - Practice basic Japanese calligraphy strokes and writing mother's day related words.

2nd class : Make the first 4 pieces
Iro wa nioedo
Chirinuru o
Waga yo tare zo
Tsune naran

3rd class : Make the last 4 pieces to complete the project
Ui no okuyama
Kyō koete
Asaki yume miji
Ei mo sezu.
